Good News, Bad News… The GOOD news: Jesse James Garrett of Adaptive Path will still be delivering a presentation to AIGA Cleveland about user experience and how designers can design for engagement.
The BAD news: Because of a family emergency, he will not present on January 28. We know you’re bummed. (We are, too.) But AIGA Cleveland is ramping up for Jesse James Garrett’s rescheduled presentation on May 13, 2010. We're still in the process of confirming with Mr. Garrett, but wanted to keep you in the loop.
Already registered? You have two options. We’ll grant you full refund or you can choose to transfer your registration for the May 13 event. Please contact Claire Brothers finance@cleveland.aiga.org

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused. We hope you’ll pencil Garrett in for May and be on the lookout for more updates soon!
Jesse James Garrett of Adaptive Path talks about the user experience and how designers can design for engagement and deliver integrated experiences across media.
Whether you create websites or shopping malls, advertisements or mobile phones, you're designing for people. And people want to be engaged by the products and services in their lives. But how do designers "engage" people? What experiences must we deliver to provide the user experience that people demand?
Design practices don't say much about creating engagement. As design evolves toward delivering integrated experiences across media, we need ways to understand modes of engagement and mechanisms for creating it. Jesse James Garrett shows us how. In this presentation, he'll look at ways designers of all types of products and services can provide meaningful experiences that integrate media through convergence.
Jesse James Garrett is one of the world's most widely recognized technology product designers. He is co-founder and president of Adaptive Path, a product experience design firm based in San Francisco, California. Under Garrett's creative direction, Adaptive Path has taken on product design challenges for organizations such as Google, Crayola, Intel, Wells Fargo and the United Nations. His book, The Elements of User Experience, is considered a seminal work on user-centered design. Garrett is a frequent keynote speaker addressing audiences around the world on the topics of product design, user experience and innovation. He received WIRED magazine's 2006 Rave Awarded for Technology and was named one of the 50 Most Important People on the Web by PC World magazine.

Are you going to email registrants to let them know? I didn't receive an email (or find one in spam) and only found out it was rescheduled because I happened to look at this page again.
