AIGA Cleveland is back to highlight our members in our monthly member spotlight. This months spotlight for February is Rachel Clingman. Rachel is a creative director, and design educator. Read more about Rachel in her own words below.
“I am a creative director by night and a design educator by day. I teach at Warrensville Heights High School an urban suburban Cleveland area school district that is part of the Heights Career Tech Consortium, my graphic design program draws students from 5 local high schools.
I teach a diverse group of students, I have made it my mission to give a high quality design education and exposure, early on to a majority minority group of students with the hope of helping to diversify the field of design. In my spotlight I have decided to show off their work. They are so talented and make me proud to be their teacher everyday!
When I get done teaching, I work with MGS Global Group at night. MGS Global Group includes the businesses AML and AMBIE. I support the branding and help with the marketing strategy of these companies.
I do not believe design is just about making products or services better or prettier- I believe everything is designed. It only takes a consciousness or presence about our decisions to see that through design we can make our world a much better place.”
Thank you Rachel for allowing us to highlight you for our member of the month and sharing your students work with us! If you have any questions on membership please reach out to Derek at dwilson@cleveland.aiga.org.
