Behind the Brand is a new event series from AIGA Cleveland where we give you an in-depth look at the development of a brand from the perspectives of the designers and the client. Behind the Brand celebrates how designers and clients can work together to create something great. For our kickoff event, we'll be exploring the partnership between Little Jacket and Open Doors Academy through a panel discussion webinar.
Little Jacket, a branding studio based in Little Italy, has been working with Open Doors Academy for over 10 years, starting with a rebrand that involved students, parents, funders, board members, and staff.
The showcase project of the ODA collaboration is the annual report, for which Little Jacket runs a week-long camp with ODA scholars each summer. In the camp, the Little Jacket team works with ODA scholars to define the year's report content and involves them in creation through narrative development, problem solving, design, and photography. The unique collaborative process for the annual report helps Little Jacket tell stories driven by the perspectives and hopes of the ODA scholars.
Little Jacket's work for ODA has been recognized in the One Show (Bronze Pencil, Finalist), Communication Arts Design and Typography annuals, at local, regional and national ADDYs, and as Judge's Choice at the Cleveland ADDY awards and the AIGA Cleveland Design 730 awards.
