In the creative profession, we tend to spend hours sitting at our desks. It is important that we are mindful of our posture and incorporate movement so that we can prevent and alleviate tension, pain, and muscle fatigue.
Michelle is here to help us. She is a registered yoga teacher that specializes in office yoga and private functional movement sessions. Attendees can expect to gain a deeper understanding of their bodies and feel empowered to alleviate pain in discomfort through an alignment-based approach that builds strength and develops lifelong patterns in the body.
We will use the chair to combat tension in common areas of the body affected by stress including the hips, shoulders and neck. Part of the session will be seated, providing us with tools to help find movement through the day in our office chairs and the other part will involve more movement around the chair, finding both strength and stability.
What to wear: Whatever you'd wear to work is great. However, heels and skirts might make certain movements more difficult so pants and flat shoes are preferred.
